The writing should be at least two paragraphs long:
The first part summarizes the main points of the article.
The second part responds to a specific point or points in the article. This response should not be about the style (it was boring, it was humourous), but about the content (the author said X and I disagree because…). Find something in the article that you find particularly interesting, that you agree or disagree with, and explain your reasons. You may offer analysis, comparison to other examples, application to personal experience, discuss implications, etc.
Can't change a rubric once you've started using it.
